Keli Gadzekpo is co-founder of Databank. His varied background in various aspects of operational management and accounting makes him an invaluable member of the Corporate Finance Unit. He has also built up a solid reputation of having an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the domestic corporate environment.
He has the requisite expertise in valuations and financial engineering. He also has relevant experience in management consulting and has been a key figure in various corporate advisory and financial restructuring assignments. He is also on the boards of Enterprise Insurance Company (EIC), Home Finance Company of The Gambia and Joy FM.
He holds a B.Sc in Accounting from the Brigham Young University in the US and is a qualified CPA from the US where he worked with KPMG Peat Marwick in the Washington DC office and with Steuart Petroleum in a number of capacities.
Keli has also completed a Mason Fellowship Program at Harvard University's JFK School of Government.
Kojo Addae-Mensah is currently Group Chief Executive of Databank Group. He has over 15 years of banking experience. Prior to joining the Databank Group, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Ghana Commercial Bank Limited, Ghana's largest and most Profitable bank and before that, the Chief Operating officer of Barclays Bank Ghana limited, the largest foreign owned bank in Ghana. He has a wealth of experience and an in-depth knowledge of the financial services Industry in Ghana. He is motivated by his desire for excellence and results.
Kojo’s experience is not only in the commercial banking space as his career began at Databank in 1998 with the corporate finance team. After his short stint at Databank in the 90s, Kojo worked with the Standard Chartered group for several years where he played various roles in Ghana, India, Kenya and Botswana.
He is an avid soccer fan, writes a column in the Kotoko Express and is also a national TV pundit. He is also a director of the Changing Lives Endowment fund, aimed at supporting bright and needy children at the SHS level.
Kojo holds an MBA in Finance and a BA in Economics all from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is married with a child.
Mr. Pa Macoumba M. Njie is the Managing Director of Trust Bank Ltd., the largest bank in The Gambia. Mr. Njie began his career with the erstwhile Gambia Commercial and Development Bank (GCDB) in the 1970s. In 1992, GCDB was restructured and sold to Meridien BIAO Bank, where Mr. Njie worked his way up from Operations Manager to Executive Director. In 1997, he was instrumental in transitioning Meridien Gambia Ltd. into Trust Bank Ltd. following the collapse of the Meridien BIAO Group. He took on the challenge of building the Trust Bank brand and has become widely recognized for his role in spearheading Trust Bank Ltd. into its leadership position in the Gambian banking industry.
Mr. Njie has served as a member of the Board of Meridien Bank Sierra Leone as well as of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and he is currently the Chairman of the Board of Home Finance Company (The Gambia) Ltd. He also currently serves as the Chairman of the Gambia Bankers’ Association and is a Director on the Board of International Bank (Liberia) Limited.
Mr. Njie received the Gambia Chamber of Commerce & Industry Banker of the Year award in 2001. In 2006, he was appointed to the National Order of the Republic of The Gambia (RGM) by His Excellency The President of the Republic of The Gambia, Yahya Jammeh. In 2012, Mr. Njie was amongst seven nominees for the African Banker of the Year award, and in 2013, he was awarded an Honorary PhD in Banking and Financial Management by the Irish University Business School.
Mr. Njie holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Howard University in Washington, DC and an M.A. in Business Economics from Essex University in the United Kingdom. Mr. Njie also has rich and diverse training in a variety of banking and related courses across the world.
Francis possesses over eighteen years consulting experience with Delottie & Touch. He has developed skills in business privatization and preparation of feasibility studies and business plan. He was among the team of consultants engaged by the State Enterprise Commission on the privatization of the workforce of the National Trust Holding Company Limited. He had prepared an investment plan and valuation of Airport Catering Ltd, a subsidiary of Ghana Airways Company, for the purpose of inviting external participant in the company. Francis also played a key role in valuing the Ghana Government shares in Barclays Bank Ghana Ltd. He has conducted feasibility study and prepared business plan for the establishment of a number of companies including Hotels, Real Estate Companies and Banks in Ghana.
He was part of the Government of Ghana team which discussed this project with Goldman Sachs Bank in the UK and the World Bank in US. The team in addition to getting the Bank to approve and give clearance to the Government to raise debt finance for the project, also to grant an assurance of $300 million grant to support the project He also played a key role in the implementation of activity based Costing System for the Asante Goldfields Company Limited .He also played a key role in re-engineering the commercial service Operation of Vodafone Ghana (formerly Ghana Telecom Company Ltd.).
Michael C. Attipoe
Michael C. Attipoe holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Howard University, Washington DC, (1972) and an MS degree in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University, New York. (1974) He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Connecticut and Virginia, USA. Worked with several companies and government institutions in power systems, and telecommunication in the US, Nigeria, and Ghana Mr. Attipoe is currently the CEO of the Giant International Limited and Africanus.Net Limited, IT and Telecommunication Service Providers
Selorm possesses over 14 years’ experience which spans Europe, USA, West Africa and Latin America with strong network of business professional key achievements. He has an MBA in Finance and Strategy from the Wharton School, USA. He has strong quantitative and analytical ability from engineering and consulting background with over seven years’ experience in operations; leading technology innovation to drive operational improvements. Selorm also has over five years Management Consulting experience in Business Strategy and Private Equity due diligence and Professional experience over Telecommunication and financial Services.
Els Boerhof joined Goodwell Investments as a partner in 2008. She manages Goodwell West Africa Microfinance Development Company and is responsible for Goodwell’s new pan-African financial inclusion fund. She is also responsible for expanding the investor base in the development finance sector. Els is a board member of Women’s World Banking Ghana and a member of the supervisory board of the BOP Innovation Center.
Before joining Goodwell, Els managed the Micro & Small Enterprise Fund ‘MASSIF’ of FMO. She expanded the fund from EUR 200 mln per end-2005 to over EUR 300 mln per end 2007. On behalf of FMO she was also a non-executive board member of Acción Investments in Microfinance (USA) and member of the Credit Committee of the AfricInvest Financial Sector Fund. Within FMO she previously held the positions of Manager Business Development and Investment Officer Asia. Before FMO, Els worked for MeesPierson in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Johannesburg in Trade & Commodity Finance (the Americas) and Correspondent Banking (Africa & Middle East).
She graduated from Tilburg University in 1995 with a thesis on “The monitoring and evaluation of credit for the rural poor”, for which she conducted the research whilst working for the Visayas Co-operative Development Organisation (VICTO) in The Philippines.
An experienced business and financial executive, with management and operational skills in several industries, segments, functional areas, and leadership roles. Expertise and experience in Corporate Risk Management, Analyzing Loan Portfolios, Balance Sheets, and Financial Reporting. Experience managing individuals at all levels within organizations, providing the leadership, coordination, and communication skills to achieve desired results. Served in the United States Army Reserves as NBC Specialist, as well as in Operations and for a Group Level Command Unit.
